<span lang="EN-US">Multilevel power converters are becoming increasingly used in several sectors: energy, grid-tie renewable energy systems, High voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission, and a multitude of industrial applications. However, the multilevel consist drives high number switches, which leads to considerable cost an increased size device. Thus, novel topology bidirectional inverter using reduced semiconductor components is proposed this paper. Without any diode clamped or flying capacitor, only nine switches generate levels new topology. The converter compared with conventional structures terms cost, active diodes, capacitors, DC floating sources. This comparative analysis shows that suitable for many For optimum control reduce switching losses semiconductors, hybrid modulation technique based on fundamental frequency multi-carrier-based sinusoidal pulse-width schemes performed. effectiveness verified by simulation results.</span>
